Carol of the Bells: A Polish Christmas Night
St Celement Danes image galleryWednesday, 14th December saw a special performance of Carol of the Bells: A Polish Christmas Night held at the RAF St Clement Danes Church. Performed in English and Polish by the Ave Verum Choir with guest readers including Rupert Everett and Phyllida Law.
London's leading Polish choir performed highlights including part of Handel's "Messiah", "Hark the Herald" in both languages and one of the first public performances of Ruttner's royal wedding anthem "This is the Day".
The audience enjoyed masterpieces from both cultures in the majestic St Clement Danes Church with mulled wine and had the opportunity to buy some wonderful gifts at the small Christmas Market.
The Christmas concert was in aid of the Polish Association of the Knights of Malta's Oncological Centre in Poznań.
